Popular Iranian actress back to cinema after 3 years

The Crystal-Simorgh-winning Iranian actress Taraneh Alidousti has been selected to join ‘Grasshopper’ which is directed by Faeze Azizkhani.

The film will go through pre-production stage soon but the starting time has not been determined yet.

Alidousti has starred in many movies, but she became more popular after starring in the drama series ‘Shahrzad’ (2015) which was well received by a great number of the audiences.

She won many international awards including Best Actress award for the film at Locarno International Film Festival 2002 and the Competition Award for ‘Modest Reception’ at Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema 2012.

Alidousti’s latest experience in cinema was Oscar-winning ‘The Salesman’ (2017) by famous Iranian director, Asghar Farhadi.

Farhad Aslani is another actor who is joining the film; and Niki Karimi –another well-known actress in Iran- is the producer of ‘Grasshopper’. The rest of the cast members will be announced later.
